Milan

Time to head to Italy, we're looking forward to this! It took a long time to get to our accommodation so by the time we get to Milan centre it is 8pm! We walk along the main shopping street looking at things we can't afford to buy and then stumble across the Cathedral which is huge and quite spectacular. As it is late all we can do is walk around taking in the sights, it will have to be an exploring day tomorrow.
We get up early (honestly!) and go back into the centre. We find the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition which is brilliant, some very inspiring photos. Sitting down in a bar James orders two beers but that's not what we get given! Apparently it's easy to mix up the words beer and pear so we have 2 glasses of (expensive) pear juice, mmm. At least they have free WiFi so we are able to get hold of Arnt who Christine met a few years back when she first visited Norway and was introduced to Arnt by her good friend Mr Willett. Arnt suggests going to an Art Museum but we give it a miss as we're not that bothered about art but we notice that it is only 3€ for 14 museums in the castle, bargain! After 6 rooms of art Christine is regretting saying yes to the bargain!
We finally meet up with Arnt and his friend and he takes us to the Branca Tower which has amazing views of the city. We then go to the Navigli District which is a series of canals perfected by Da Vinci. For some reason the canals have dried up but we used our imagination and could see how beautiful it usually looks. We go to a cool bar with lots of speciality beer and we're happy that Arnt is here to save us from another pear disaster! We had a lovely meal and a fun night with Arnt and his friend and we are so happy that they were able to meet up with us.
